Connie Stant

CONNIE Stant passed away at the age of 89 at Friaryhurst Nursing Home, at Prinsted, Southbourne on January 18.

She came to Hayling in the early 1930s when her father, Jesse Cross, became Coastguard officer at Hayling's Coastguard Station.

The family moved to St Leonard's Avenue before the war, where Connie met and married Tony Stant.

Connie worked at Manor Farm Dairies as a secretary, and as a cashier at The Regal Cinema during the war.

Latterly she worked for turf accountant Norman Fowler as an office manager.

Connie is now reunited with Tony, and will be lovingly remembered by her three daughters, six grandchildren and four great grandchildren, and all who knew her.
