Blood Brothers – not the musical!
By FIONA BARTLETT AFTER a most successful production of "The Importance of Being Earnest HIADS' next play will be the soulful dramatic version of Blood Brothers
The play - written by Willy Russell - is seldom performed after being turned into a successful musical, and the story is the same, being two brothers who are separated at birth and brought up by different mothers.
One is the natural mother, in a working-class environment full of hardship, and the other in an easier middle-class family.
Set in Liverpool, both brothers grow up independently, not knowing of the connection, but unfortunately, they both fall for the same girl.
This leads to scenes of jealousy, and anger, finishing on a highly dramatic ending.
The play runs from Saturday, August 14-21, with performances at 7.45pm.
Tickets – all now priced at 7 - can be obtained from the box office from Monday to Saturday between 10am-12noon. Call 9246 6363.
Also, in early September is the return of the renowned blues and boogie pianist Bob Hall, who will be performing the Bluebird Blues as part of his UK Tour, on Saturday, September 4, at 7.45pm.
Ticket prices will be announced later, look out for the posters.
