I can sea clearly now

THE proposed Venture Hayling breakwater plan certainly has fired the imagination of residents.

I began to think of the disruption to roads bringing in materials, etc.

Then, while on holiday in Italy, I spotted the prefabricated concrete breakwaters which started my imagination.

Everything could be brought by sea. Portland cement to Parkhurst Prison to make the moulds - for a fee of course - then to Hayling. Simple.

Editor's note: While I cannot speak for whether Alan Priddy and his supporters had the idea of using "chain gang" labour for his breakwater, I can assure you that his plan has always intended all materials to be delivered by sea – the Island's roads could never take that much weight and traffic.
