Everything's not fine on shopping front

I WAS utterly disgusted to receive a parking fine after visiting the Solent Retail Park in Havant last month.

I was actually shopping in the stores there and have proof of items purchased on that same day.

The other retail park in Havant has a three-hour maximum parking period, which is far more acceptable than two hours, as it gives the car owner plenty of time to browse, as there are quite a few shops in the Solent Retail Park.

Hobby Craft alone is a huge store, which you could easily spend an hour in!

In these recessionary times, I am sure the shops in the park welcome their customers.

I for one will make sure all my relatives and friends are aware of the fine.

I had to pay for parking for approximately two hours and 45 minutes – it cost me 50 and to add insult to injury it could have been 80 or even 110!

The clerk in the bank where I paid the 50 was horrified and she informed me that the other retail park in the town has a maximum of three hours free parking, which is probably why I assumed it was three hours at Solent.

I could understand if I had spent the whole day in the car park, but this was not the case.

I was a mere 45 minutes over the two-hour limit - surely it should be three hours at the very least.

I would suggest that the people enforcing the limit have the decency to leave a note on the owner's car in future, so they do not receive a letter in the post informing them a week later.
