TWO Hayling beaches will be proudly flying their Blue Flags for the 17th year running.
West Beachlands Central and West Beachlands West have come up trumps yet again in the prestigious awards for beach cleanliness.

Hayling's beaches were among 82 in England that were awarded the prize.

They were the only winners in Hampshire out of 22 winners in the South East.

Independent charity Environment Campaigns (ENCAMS) awards Blue Flag status to those beaches which can demonstrate they are among the cleanest and safest in the country.

The Environment Agency tests the water quality for the charity between May and September to ensure bathing waters aren't polluted.

Inspectors from Keep Britain Tidy perform spot checks throughout the year to make sure the beaches are kept in top condition.

Hayling's beaches won for their crystal-clear clean waters, disabled facilities, litter-free sands, a dog ban in the summer, shower and toilet facilities, clearly-displayed information points and lifeguards.
