A NUMBER of people have expressed opinions on the Seafront Masterplan so I feel I must have an input.
There are several good points but the main question is sustainability. Compared to many visitor resorts we are a one road on-and-off system, whereas in a lot of other coastal resorts there are several roads to choose from.

This in itself cuts down
our flow of visitors. Whatever we have to offer on Beachlands has to be better than anywhere else as there is no passing trade, and people will have to make a conscious effort to want to visit.

The windsurfing centre is probably a good idea although funding could be an issue.

Compared with some Mediterranean resorts that have a four foot tide difference we have a high tide with a beach full of water and six hours later nothing.

My main concern in the proposal is for about 100 dwellings that could take place at Beachlands and the Ferry as I think there will be no shortage of developers to take on this project.

If this development goes ahead you do not have to be a Russian chess player to know what the next move will be.
Consultation with the residents is important and everyone must be given a chance to have their say.

Make sure your voice is heard whether for or against.
